Our Beliefs

Christ-We believe that Jesus is True God, begotten of the Father from all eternity, and also True Man, born of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He took upon Himself the sins of the world, died on the cross, and was placed into a tomb. Three days later, He truly rose from the dead in both His body and His soul. He ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father and He will come again with all glory to judge both the living and the dead.

Evangelical-We believe the Gospel/evangelical message, that Jesus Christ has died for the forgiveness of sins, is to be preached to all the ends of the earth.

Lutheran-We believe, teach, and confess the historic, apostolic teachings of the Christian faith as set down in the Book of Concord, 1580.

Church-We believe the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, and enlightens God’s people together as the Church. As the Church, Christ feeds and sustains His flock by His Word and His Sacraments so that His people may go out into the world to witness, show mercy, and live together.

Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church is a member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. A “synod” is a body of churches that walk together in what they believe, teach, and confess. For more information about the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod see lcms.org.
