“Next to the Word of God, I consider music to be the greatest of His gifts.” – Martin Luther
Christ Lutheran is blessed with a strong and vibrant music program that enriches our worship and congregational life. Through the faithful service of dedicated musicians and singers, sacred music supports the proclamation of God’s Word and enhances the beauty of the Divine Service. From choir and handbells to instrumentalists and special music, many members share their gifts in praise to God. We give thanks for these talents and for the role music plays in strengthening our worship and fellowship.
Choir
At Christ Lutheran it is an honor to use the Lord’s gift of music in His service and to His glory. We have a dedicated choir of vocalists who love to sing hymns, canticles, psalms and songs reflecting the Word of God. You are welcome to come and sing God’s praises with us.
Children’s Music
Our children begin their Sunday School hour with singing. They learn hymns and songs about Jesus which are sung in worship. These words and tunes will stay with them the rest of their lives.
Bell Choir
We have a three-octave set of Malmark handbells to ring God’s praises. No prior music knowledge is required. Our director teaches all ages to ring in the Bell Choir.
Organ
We are blessed to have a 15-rank pipe organ to accompany our services and glorify God. In recent years the console has been updated with a digital control system and the pipes are being restored and maintained as needed.
Instrumental Music
We welcome instrumental music as a gift from our Creator God. Our members and friends have provided a wide variety of instrumental music, including euphonium, clarinet, violin, trumpet, and piano to enrich our services and glorify the Lord. We welcome your music also!
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Psalm 92:1-4
