Study and Formation
Sunday Morning Bible Class meets at 10:15 AM, following the Divine Service. This time of study and fellowship includes coffee and treats, and offers an opportunity for deeper reflection on God’s Word. Participants are welcome to ask questions, join the discussion, or simply listen to a more in-depth exploration of what we believe. Since Bible study can sometimes feel intimidating, the pastor promises that he will not put you on the spot or ask you to read unless you raise your hand!
Sunday School is from September until May. Children 3 years old and older are invited to continue to learn what Jesus has done for them.
Confirmation is a class of instruction of the Christian Faith as taught in Martin Luther’s Small Catechism. Generally, children 9 years and older will begin to memorize the Small Catechism at home and learn what it means to be a Christian with the instruction of the Pastor.
Adult Instruction: If you wish to become a member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, the Pastor is more than willing to sit down with you and teach you the Christian faith as taught in the Small Catechism.
Vacation Bible School is held in the summer and is free for any children in the community.
Service and Mercy
In thankful response to God’s grace in Christ, members of the congregation serve both within the church and in the wider community. Along with supporting the Christ Lutheran Food Pantry, our men’s group have organized fundraisers and collections to support organizations such as Housing4OurVets, Orphan Grain Train, a diaper drive for Caritas Food Pantry in Beloit, and Willow Women’s Center in Beloit.
As a congregation, we also gather each year to share Christ’s love with our shut-in members through Christmas caroling. Through these acts of mercy and service, we seek to care for our neighbors and live out our Christian vocations in love.
